Central America , Southern Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. Ayurvedic medicine considers aloe to be oestrogenic. This accounts for its vitalizing properties for women.

Aloe’s main constituents are
The gel, which is found inside the leaves
The exudate, which is obtained from the juice, from cells beneath the tough outer skin. The exudate contains active substances which have a laxative effect, most is removed in the extraction process. The traces that remain contribute to the overall health benefits of aloe vera.
Peptic Ulcers
Aloe’s effectiveness in the treatment of peptic ulcers was reported in “The Journal of the American Osteopathological Society.” The patients showed complete recovery after taking one tablespoon of aloe vera gel daily, for twelve months. This study concluded that aloe vera gel is an effective dermulcent. It has been suggested that the aloe gel inhibits gastric acid secretion. This action further prevents and treats peptic ulcers.
